Tour of Britian cycle race to pass through South Buckinghamshire
More than a hundred world class cyclists will speed through South Buckinghamshire during stage six of the FriendsLife Tour of Britain cycle race on Friday 12th September 2014.
The race is scheduled to pass through Chinnor, Bledlow Ridge, Saunderton, Princes Risborough and Great Missenden during the late afternoon on the way to the finish in Hemel Hempstead.
The Wycombe District section includes two climbs in the SKODA King of the Mountains competition and an intermediate sprint in the YodelDirect Sprints competition.
Twenty teams are due to take part in this year’s event including Team Sky, who won the 2013 Tour of Britain with Sir Bradley Wiggins.
One of the stage six partners is Wycombe District Council.
There are number of related local events on and around stage six including free bike servicing, a female only cycle ride and there is a an off-road mountain bike event.
