Motorcyclist, 18, dies in accident in Chestnut Avenue, High Wycombe

An 18 year old motorcyclist died in an accident that took place in Chestnut Avenue, High Wycombe on Wednesday 10th September 2014.

Police Officers attended the scene at 11.45am following reports of an accident and discovered that a beige Toyota estate car had been involved in a collision with a motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old man from the local area, died at the scene, his next of kin have been informed. The driver of the Toyota received minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Chestnut Avenue and Bassetsbury Lane were closed while investigators attended the scene and recovery of the vehicles took place.

Thames Valley Police has launched an appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision. Sgt Sharon Scarffe, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: ‘I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision to speak to officers. If you have any information which could assist the investigation, please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
